Styling a Bomber Jacket

It’s only February and it’s already looking like spring in Las Vegas! I’m ready to celebrate warmer weather with thinner fabrics, brighter colors and better yet – floral prints.

To be honest I haven’t been a huge fan of the bomber jacket trend. It is quite bulky, which isn’t very flattering especially if you’re short like me. However, the silky fabric and floral embroidery of this jacket I recently found on Gilt got me! Not to mention the 40% extra I got on it, and that’s after sale. I couldn’t pass it up after all.

Silk looks great with velvet, so I hope to pair this jacket with velvet dresses or pants. For s more casual look, I would opt for a pair of white skinny jeans or a flared denim.

Folk Motives and Embroidery Trends

My husband made me do it! Yes, he not only takes pride in taking my photos, but he picked this shirt for me.

I already talked about embroidery trends here, but there is something different about this top. The folk element of the embroidery along with the A-line cut make it that one-of-a-kind piece you need in your closet. Styled simply with a pair of jeans or a legging, you don’t even need any special accessories. I love the pairing with these Steve Madden OTK boots (I got last year on Zappos.com), but a pair of clean stilettos will make the look even more elegant.
