A Peek Inside My Purse

I’ve always had a preference towards larger handbags although the rule states that petite women should carry smaller purses. I love having a few items handy and I never leave the house without them. That’s why a nice tote is a must-have in my closet! There will be plenty of space for a notebook or iPad, your daily makeup products, as well as a couple other random items. Now, take a look at the items I always like to have in my bag.

Aside from smart tech devices, I love big wallets that fit just about anything. This Ted Baker one below is my favorite wallet of all times! It’s beautiful and pretty unique, and has got me quite a few compliments every times I take it out. The next item – a French perfume, Diptyque Philosykos, is a signature smell I recently discovered. It is on the strong side, but I usually save it for special occasions. A bold lipstick is another beauty must-have. The best part is that with a bright lip you can get away with minimal makeup. Speaking of beauty, every girl knows that a nice pair of sky-high heels always stands out! That’s why you need to do your feet a favor and try Compeed, a new solution for relieving blister pain instantly. The Blister Cushions featured bellow have hydrocolloid technology that fits like a second skin and stays on all day long. Lastly, my selfie stick has got me covered at work events, social outings and family time.

What do you carry in your bag?

Hot Summer Styles

Are you ready to say “Goodbye” to summer? I didn’t think so!

Many stores are now hosting back-to-school events, but summer is still here; especially in So Cal, we hope to enjoy it a little longer. Summer is a season of long days, many fun activities and, of course, sexy looks. So, let’s talk fashion! If you like staying current and on top of all the new trends, I hope you like 70s fashion style. The 70s are back this summer, and will stay in your wardrobe throughout this fall.

For this post, I have included some of the hottest looks of the season that also happen to be trendy during the 70s era.

Wide Leg Pants are definitely not for everyone. You will either love them or hate them. I personally love the bell-bottom jeans—they can make your legs look longer, especially if you wear them with a pair of heels (opt for clogs and/or wedges). If you are looking for a dressier look, I would recommend the palazzo pant. Be careful choosing the color because with the wrong print it might look like you just got out in your PJs.

The Silk Blouse creates a very feminine look. Front ties or bows are very chic for a night out or a day at the office.

Bangles are back! Let’s not forget the accessories. If you are not a fan of earrings, bangles are right for you! Easy to put on, too—you actually don’t need to ask for help or twist your arm as you do with bracelets…

High Waist Swim Pieces Those of you who like the sun, probably rock a new swim piece at the beach every year. Yes, the high waist provides more coverage and prevents your back from tanning, but it also hides that extra tummy =) (I’m sure new moms like myself will appreciate that!) Stay away from stripes as they tend to enlarge the body.

Next stop – Europe!

According to American tradition, with Memorial Day just around the corner, summer is finally here!

Living in So Cal and experiencing 80-degree weather is enough for us to welcome this season a little earlier. Many of us celebrate summer by traveling, and better yet by exploring the world. Myself, I am planning a trip back home, and even though I have done this many times, I always get paranoid about leaving something important behind! As if there are no stores out there…go figure!

A trip to the Old Continent is quite exciting—that’s for sure! However, arriving 15-20 hours later at your final destination, and finding out your luggage did not make it can be quite devastating! I have experienced this episode a few times as well. I wanted to save you the headache; that is why I decided to suggest a few items you should include in your carry-on.

Passport Holder It speaks for itself! This one will store not only your passport, but also your boarding passes, cash and perhaps your ticket. You can wear it around the neck; that way you don’t need to check your purse every five minutes to make sure you didn’t leave it on the check-in counter.

Folding Cosmetic Case I personally don’t have a brand preference, as long as it’s practical. I got this one from TJ Maxx for under $20. It is true that many airlines won’t allow you to take your perfumes, lotions and other cosmetics, but think efficiently! Pack your jewelry instead. This way, even if someone decides to break the lock on your suitcase and check on your “valuables,” you have nothing to worry about.

Crossbody Bag While we are on the “personal belongings” topic, let me tell you, European hot spots are CROWDED! It is always safest to have your items right in front of you and best to keep them handy. Tip: If you like to mesh with the euro crowd, please forget about Coach! Think bright colors!

Shorts Speaking of bright colors, summer and vacation, don’t forget to throw in some shorts.

Harem Pants Still in this year. The great part about them is that, worn with a pair of cute flats, they can be the perfect outfit for the day; while, at the same time, combined with heals, they can create a really feminine look on a night out.

Denim Dress For those of you who like wearing dresses, this one is chic, yet not so pretentious. Desigual has many other original and European-looking clothes at affordable prices that I am sure you will love, since you are reading my blog :).

Swimwear Last, but not least, this is probably the most important item on the list! If you haven’t visited a European beach or pool, you have probably heard or read that tops are not mandatory! Yes, you can lose it any time. If you are brave enough that means one item less in your carry-on. Have fun!

Feel free to share your favorite on-the-go items or other euro designers!

Bon voyage!
