Authentic Alfama in Lisbon, Portugal

Hello from beautiful Lisbon, Portugal. 🇵🇹

If you’ve been following my recent European adventures on Instagram, this spot may look familiar. Alfama is the oldest neighborhood in Lisbon with narrow streets covered in cobblestone, graffiti walls and beautiful mosaics. This traditional side of Lisbon is a must-see and experience. As a solo traveler, I loved walking up to the top of Alfama and enjoying this beautiful view. Not to mention, every street has something unique to explore.

Alfama is definitely one of the top Instagrammable locations in Lisbon. It is a colorful district with lots of character and charm. Tram 28 is another major attraction in Alfama. Even if you don’t ride the tram, you can’t miss snapping a pic or two.

If you like to feel the vibe of the neighborhood, explore one of the cute little restaurants or enjoy a glass of wine admiring the sunset and this gorgeous view of Lisbon up top.

My Take on Black Friday

I hope everyone enjoyed some quality family time on Thanksgiving. In case you decided to burn some calories after the big meal and hit the mall, that’s probably not a bad idea. If you hate crowds and prefer to do your shopping online, I’ve got you covered too. Here is a list of stores worth checking out this weekend:

  • Zara – 30% off entire collection. It may seem that Zara is all I wear, but I only hit the store twice a year during the sales. It’s a good time to stock up on basics and score some trendy items as well. Btw, the skirt I’m wearing below is from Zara.

Purple Hues

After nearly two months without posting, I’m making a comeback in one of my favorite finds from the Zara sale. My work travel and family summer adventures have kept me busy, but you can find all about it on my Instagram here.

If you are short like me, you know the struggle of finding a great fit, especially for jumpsuits. When I tried this romper on, I knew it was a winner. I loved the colors too, and I have been wearing it as a casual outfit most of all. Here, I decided to dress it up with a pair of caged heels and add a pop of purple.

The amethyst leather bracelet is handmade by Desert Daisy Jewelry, and you can find it here along with other unique crafted jewelry items including the hairsticks that I frequently wear. The tassel earrings I’m wearing below are also handmade. I found them in a boutique in Sydney, Australia during one of my latest trips.
